Namgyal Tsemo was built in 1430 on a rock face at the back the Leh Palace. This Ladakh Monastery is a Buddhist Gompa established by King Tashi Namgyal. Namgyal Tsemo Ladakh has its star attraction as the three-storey elevated gold statue of Buddha. The Namgyal Tsemo Monastery is a thriving complex comprising ancient manuscripts, paintings, sculptures, statues, and frescoes depicting the teachings of Buddha.
