5 Nights/6 Days Leh Ladakh trip

Day 01:  Arrive Delhi by flight


Upon arrival, meet and transfer to Hotel.
Afternoon, Combined city tour of New and Old Delhi : Visit includes Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers in the Persian world.  Continue with a drive through Embassy area, the Government buildings, drive past Red Fort, the most opulent Fort, Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi and Chandni Chowk .Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02:  Delhi / Leh Flight 

After early breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Leh. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon free for Acclimatizing. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03:  Leh (Full day visit to Shey, Thikshey and Hemis With picnic Lunch)


After breakfast, drive to Shey : 15-km southeast of Leh and once the capital of Ladakh is now all but deserted, the royal family having been forced to abandon it by the Dogras midway through the last century. One can get extremely dehydrated along the 4-km trek so bring plenty of water and a hat.

The best time to visit the Shey Gompa is between 7.00 and 9.00 am or 5.00 and 6.00pm since the monks perform their prayer devotions at these times.

Thikshey : Ladakh's most photographed and architecturally impressive Gompa is at Tikse, 19-km southeast of Leh, founded in the 15th century. Visit Maitreya Temple: Inaugurated in 1980 by the dalai lama, the spacious shrine of Maitreya Temple is built around a gigantic 14m high gold faced Buddha

Hemis: It is the wealthiest, best known and biggest gompa of Ladakh Its popularity stems from the major annual festival held here in summer. The festival is also has the largest thanka in Ladakh which is unfirled once in 12 years.

Day 04:  Leh  (Full day visit to Lamayuru Monastery With Packed Lunch)
After breakfast visit Lamayuru Monastery - Situated at the altitude of 3800 meters between Fotu-la and Khalsi. As per the legend, in ancient times a lake covered this site. One day a Hermit predicted that there will be a monastery one day and he throws the grain of rice on the earth which automatically forms the shape of Swastika (Yundrung) from where the name comes (Yundrung Tharpaling Gompa). Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 05: Leh (Alchi and Likir With Picnik Lunch)

After breakfast visit Alchi: Driving past the cluster of low pagoda roofed cubes 3-km across the Indus from Saspol.
Alchi: 70-km west of Leh, harbours an extraordinary wealth of ancient wall paintings and wood sculpture.
The Du-Khang: An inscription records that Alchi's oldest structure, the Du-Khang, was erected late in the 11th century by Kaldan Shesrab.

Glimpses of Ladakh tour


The Sumtsek Standing to the left of the Du-khang, the Sumtsek is Alchi's most celebrated temple, and the highest achievement of early medieval Indian Buddhist art.
Likir : 6-km to the north of the main Leh -Srinagar highway, shortly before the village of Saspol, the large and wealthy Gompa of Likkir, home to around one hundred monks, is renowned for its huge yellow statue of the Buddha .
Evening back to Hotel, Dinner & overnight stay

Day 06:  Leh / Delhi
Following breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Delhi.
On arrival, you will meet and free for Shopping. Evening Dinner and transfer to airport for your onward destination.
