Leh Ladakh Climate

Every land has diverse geographical formation making the natural landscape, wildlife, inhabitants, cultures, lifestyles, and overall demographics different from each other. Hence the most important factor that makes different geographical conditions is weather and climate. So every destination has its own climate depending on the nearness to sea, or situated at high altitude, positioned at plains, or nearer to arctic zone, or placed near equator. Therefore temperature in Leh - Ladakh is mostly influenced by its natural positioning at high altitude.

In summer season the temperature in Leh becomes slightly warm with the maximum temperature records at 30◦C with minimum of -3◦C depending on the altitude and rainfall. The best climate of Ladakh is between months of June to October with warm weather, evenly distributed rainfall, and almost nil snowfall.

Climate Conditions in Leh Ladakh is changing fast due to numerous impact on environment one being the global warming. Climate in Leh is receiving more rainfall in recent years with an increase of 50 mm to 90 mm annual rainfall, higher rate of snow melting, and hot summer making it difficult for natives, wildlife, and vegetation of the coldest desert to suit the change in weather.
